Bengaluru: In a unique initiative, traffic police used an artist dressed as “Yamraj” to warn traffic rule violators. The artist was seen warning the violators that he would visit their house if they fail to follow traffic rules.
According to the report published in NDTV, it was the idea of the Halasuru Gate Traffic Police, Bengaluru. They used ‘Yamaraja’ for creating awareness about traffic rules.
Talking to the media persons, Mr. Anupam Agarwal, Dy. Commissioner of Traffic Police said that the month of July is being observed as road safety month. As part of creating awareness, various programs are being conducted.
It is also reported that the name of the artist who was dressed as “Yamraj” is Veeresh. He warned motorists who were violating traffic rules. The aim of this awareness program is to minimize the number of accident cases by creating awareness among both the pedestrians and motorists.
It may be noted that in the present year, till June 2336 accidents have occurred. Out of these accidents, 330 were fatal.
