Dimapur ,Nagaland: The Aakriti Art Gallery, a first of its kind in Nagaland, was opened here on Circular Road on Friday. It showcases various collections by national award winner Suman Sonthalia.
Inaugurated by Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) administrator H. Atokhe Aye, the art gallery provides a unique range of tribal handcrafted gift objects and art decor.
Atokhe appreciated Sonthalia for providing the women a platform explore their talent in the form of art craft and to earn their livelihood.
Suman Sonthalia said that Aakriti Art creations was started in 1996 as a hobby to develop art and craft as well as to empower women.
“Aakriti Art Creations’ products are a fusion between various art forms of tribal art and design principles,” she said.
Aakriti Arts creations provides various product including a broad range of antique furniture, dhokra- warli paintings, terracotta vases, table lamps, hanging lights, kitchen utility products, wall clocks , miniature pots, wind chimes, trays and many more items of home decor and utility. (ANI)
