Ranchi, April 14: Union Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal today accused Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh of “failing” to protect exploitation of dalits and women in the state.
“Despite having a dalit Chief Minister, dalits in Uttar Pradesh are being exploited. In spite of UP having a women CM, exploitation against women is rampant,” Jaiswal said on being asked about the law and order situation in UP.
“Such serious exploitation against dalits and women has never happened in UP, it’s the worst in the history of Uttar Pradesh,” he alleged.
Jaiswal congratulated Gandhian Anna Hazare on his movement for Jan Lokpal Bill and said such a bill had been the desire of the Prime Minister and AICC president, Sonia Gandhi.
