Uniform income ceiling criteria for minorities’ welfare schemes

The Telangana Government on Thursday issued orders introducing uniform income ceiling criteria for different welfare schemes of the Minorities Welfare Department.

“The Income Ceiling Criteria for different welfare schemes in the Minorities Welfare Department are variable for different schemes and these were prescribed long back and are not in consonance with present realities. With a view to make income criteria uniform for all welfare schemes in the State in respect of Minorities Welfare Department, it is felt desirable to have uniform income eligibility criteria for all the Government Schemes in respect of Minorities Welfare Department,” Special Secretary to Government Syed Omer Jaleel said in the GO Ms No 64 issued on Thursday.

Therefore, the State Government ordered that the uniform income eligibility criteria be followed in respect of all the schemes of Minorities Welfare Department for getting sanction of economic support. The income limit in Rural Areas has been set at Rs 150,000/- while it will be Rs 200,000 for Urban Areas for Bank Linked Subsidy for Income Generated Scheme, Shaadi Mubarak, Skill Development Training (Christian Corporation), Skill Development Training (Minority Finance Corporation), Reimbursement of Tuition Fees, Maintenance of Tuition Fees and Coaching for Civil Services.
