Uniform Civil Code – Law Commission issues questionnaire to elicit opinion from public

Hyderabad: Govt. of India has started its efforts for the furtherance of implementation of Uniform Civil Code in the country. In this regard Law Commission of India has issued an appeal and a five page questionnaire. After the release of this questionnaire it has been proved beyond doubt that Govt. of India is bent upon implementing Uniform Civil Code. In the appeal reference has been made to Article 44 of constitution of India which says that State would take appropriate steps for the implementation of Uniform Civil Code. This appeal which has been signed by Mr. B.S. Chowhan of Law Commission says that the objective of this appeal is to elicit opinions from all sections of society. 45-days time for responding to this questionnaire.
