Two unidentified persons opened fire on the car of a businessman, Shahabuddin, at Rajendranagar on Monday night while he was travelling home. No one was injured in the incident.
According to Rajendranagar police, 32-year-old Shahabuddin, owner of Maks Kitchen restaurant, was returning home after collecting cash from his hotel in Rajendranagar at around midnight when two persons riding a Yamaha motorcycle waved him to stop the vehicle at an isolated place at A G colony in Upparpally.
“Shahabuddin told us that as he sensed danger he did not stop the car and instead accelerated the vehicle following which the miscreants chased him and fired on the vehicle,” Inspector Rajendranagar S Venkat Reddy, said.
The businessman later called up the Cyberabad police control room and informed them about the incident. Police teams from different police stations rushed to the spot and escorted him safely. The police collected two bullets purportedly fired by the miscreants from his car.
“A case under different sections of Indian Penal Code and Arms Act has been registered. We are trying to gather footage from the surveillance cameras installed in the area,” the official said.
The police are probing the case from all angles including property disputes as the businessman is fighting a court case pertaining to lands at Sogbowli village in Ranga Reddy district. (INN)
