Unidentified car passengers harass women in Sola

Ahmedabad, June 30: Residents of Ajanta-Ellora Park Society in Sola have registered a complaint with the police that the women in the society are being harassed by some miscreants who deliberately pass by the area in a white coloured car. The police have now decided to deploy a patrolling van in the area from Monday night onwards.

The Sola police said that people in the society generally sleep outside their tenements in the summer, and every night, a white car comes to the society and miscreants get down from the vehicle and harass the women sleeping outside their houses along with their family members.

But when questioned how many women were harassed, the women kept mum, the police said.

Meanwhile, the police have assigned patrolling duty to two officers and have also agreed to keep a special check on the highway and the neighbourhoods of the society at night.

Woman complains of abduction, harassment
A middle-aged woman from Danilimda registered a complaint with the police alleging that she was abducted on Sunday and then left stranded after sometime.

According to police, the victim, Munirabano, a resident of Shah Alam was abducted by two unknown men in a Maruti van in broad daylight on Sunday. She has alleged that the men mentally harassed her and even slit her hands with a blade.

Later, she was left stranded in an unknown area.

The police have now registered a case of abduction and harassment. The police said that earlier too the woman had complained of harassment from her in-laws.
