Unichem Lab gets US nod for Clonidine

Mumbai, August 27: Drug maker Unichem Laboratories Thursday said it has received the Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its Clonidine Hydrochloride tablets.
The product, a low dose potent drug in the antihypertensive category, will be manufactured at Unichem’s Goa plant, the company said in a regulatory statement.

ICRA Techno merges with Sapphire International

Kolkata: The Connecticut-based IT solutions provider Sapphire International Inc, which was acquired by ICRA Techno Analytics Inc, the US-based information technology arm of ICRA Ltd, will be known as ICRA Sapphire Inc.

ICRA Techno Analytics acquired the US firm for $1 million in March.

Aurobindo Pharma gets Swiss approval for drug

Mumbai: Aurobindo Pharma Thursday said it has received approval from Swissmedic, an agency of the Switzerland government for therapeutic products, for its Cefepime APL injection.

The injection is used for treating moderate to severe pneumonia, septicaemia, and skin and intra-abdominal infections.

This is company’s second product approval from Swissmedic, Aurobindo said in a regulatory statement.

Lavasa, Wipro ink pact

Mumbai: Lavasa Corp and Wipro Thursday announced a partnership for planning, implementing and managing information and communication technology (ICT) services across Lavasa city.

Lavasa is free India’s first and largest hill city being developed by Lavasa Corp, a part of HCC Group. Wipro’s ICT services will include voice-video-data services to various businesses operating out of Lavasa city.

ITDC to bring 35 hotels under ‘Ashok’ brand

New Delhi: State-run India Tourism Development Corp (ITDC) Thursday said it is planning to bring up to 35 hotels under the “Ashok” brand by the end of next year. At present, ITDC has two hotels under the Askok brand.

“We are planning for expansion and expect that by the end of next year will be able to bring 35 hotels under the Ashok brand,” Kuldip Verma, vice-president, corporate marketing, told reporters here.

Kerala IT project wins national award

Thiruvananthapuram: The Karshaka Information Systems Services and Networking (Kissan), an agri-information portal of the Kerala government, has won the e-India Agriculture Award 2009.

The award, under the “ICT-enabled agricultural initiative” category, recognises excellence in the field of agricultural production, agricultural marketing and agro-business with use of information and communication technology (ICT).

Escorts expects 12 projects turnover growth

Kolkata: Escorts Group, one of India’s largest engineering companies, has projected a turnover growth of 12 percent in 2008-09 to reach Rs.2,300 crore, the company’s deputy general manager of sales Vivek Malik has said.

The company’s turnover was Rs.2,050 crore in 2007-08.
