Unhygienic conditions prevail in Osmania hospital

Three days after the Deputy CM T Rajaiah has visited the Osmania hospital and has assured to improve the rotting condition of Osmania hospital, but still the sanitation and the overall standard shows zero improvements.

Deputy CM T Rajaiah’s stayed a night at the Osmania General Hospital (OGH), and vowed to improve the standard of the government hospitals in the city, but even after a month, the unhygienic conditions remains, off course, the condition have gone from bad to worse.

There is dirt and waste thrown around at every nook and corner, including the wards. If such deplorable condition prevails in OGH, this will affect not only patients but also it will have an adverse impact on attendants and doctors too. Reams have been written about the state of health care in India, but Overcrowded wards, unclean surroundings and non-functioning equipment is almost synonymous with government hospitals in the city.

Worse still, patients complain about apathy of doctors. “My sister has been lying sick inside the ward for the last couple of months and yet, no doctor has attended to her even once,” says an attendant.

When contacted with a senior officer, he said that sanitation workers are not paid their salaries from past three months, as a result they are not motivated to do their work, he assured of bringing the situation by Superintendent Dr. Raghuram as soon he returns from Chennai.
