Undertrial prisoner escapes from district hospital

New Delhi: An undertrial prisoner escaped from the district hospital’s jail ward here, officials said on Tuesday.
The incident took place on Monday night. Dariya Gurjar complained of stomach pain following which he was admitted in the hospital’s jail ward on September 25, Deputy Superintendent (Jail) B S Morya said.

Gurjar fooled the police guard on duty on the pretext of going to toilet and escaped from the hospital, said the official.

Gurjar is a resident of Dholpur, Rajasthan and is accused of loot and dacoity. He was in the jail for quite some time.

A case was registered in this regard in Morena Kotwali Police Station and search is on to nab him soon, he added.
