Muzaffarnagar, January 10: An undertrial prisoner has died under mysterious circumstances in the district jail here and a magisterial inquiry has been ordered into his death, police said today.
Omprakash (53) fell ill and was rushed to hospital last evening, where he was declared brought dead, they said.
A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the circumstances leading to his death, they said.
Omprakash had been arrested in a case in January 2002.
