Undertrial criminal Habeeb Ahmed escapes from Nampally court premises

Hyderabad, July 07: An undertrial escaped from Nampally court premises where he was to be produced in connection with an attempt to murder case, police
said.

The undertrial identified as Habib Ahmed was arrested in a case of attempt to murder by Mirchowk and Moghalpura police about three months ago and was lodged at Chanchalguda jail, they said.

Ahmed who was brought alongwith three other accused to the court this afternoon was to be produced before an Additional Metropolitan magistrate, but fled immediately after his handcuffs were removed, police said.

“He managed to gave a slip to the escorting police after his handcuffs were removed before being taken inside the crowded court hall,” an Investigating officer said.

A hunt has been launched to nab the accused, the police officer said.
