Lucknow, April 19: A man was arrested today for allegedly murdering his 11-year-old nephew over a land dispute in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi district, police said here.
“On April 15, Nitesh Kushwaha was kidnapped from Badagaon area in Jhansi, 292 km from Lucknow, by some unidentified persons while he was returning home from school,” ADGP (law and order) Brij Lal told reporters here.
During investigation, the name of the boy’s uncle Santosh surfaced following which he was arrested, he said.
Santosh was having a dispute over land with the minor’s father Virendra, Lal said.
“On the basis of Santosh’s information, the boy’s body was recovered from Pariccha dam,” he said.
