Having a mixed locality of Hindus and Muslims, Vinobha Nagar colony, Shaikpet, has two masajid and 3 tombs within its precinct. Though the land under the 3 Qutub Shahi tombs and 2 masajid is 3270 sqyds, but sadly most of the valuable Waqf land has been encroached upon by unscrupulous elements. While the majority of the encroachers are non Muslims, regrettably the list of encroachers also contains some Muslim names too.
In addition to that 3 new houses were being constructed on the masjid land without hesitation. As soon as the report reached Waqf board, Waqf Board chairman Maulana Khusro Pasha immediatly came into action and directed special task force team to submit a complete report after inspection.
After the submission of the report the two officials of Waqf Board made a written complaint with inspector Golconda. Fortunately police immediately sprung into action and stalled the construction work, in addition to that they restricted labours to avoid construction on the land. The police asked the builders to produce papers of the land and NOC by Waqf board.
According to highly placed sources the people undertaking construction work on the land in question, are influential personalities but the Waqf board has refused to bow to any kind of pressure.
