Bareilly: In a sorrowful incident, a man set his younger daughter on fire after failing to perform elder daughter’s marriage. This incident took place in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.
According to the report published in Times of India, the accused is identified as Mukhtar. He was trying to perform the marriage of his 21-year-old daughter. However, due to lack of money, he was unable to perform it. Frustrated over it, the man poured kerosene on his younger daughter (19) and set her on fire.
In the incident, the girl received 95% burn injuries.
The victim’s mother registered a complaint against Mukhtar. An FIR is registered under relevant sections of IPC.
As per the statement given by the victim’s elder brother, his father committed this crime after indulging in a heated argument with the victim’s mother.
