Karachi, Aug 19 : United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has expressed concern at the latest upsurge in violence along the disputed border of India and Pakistan in Kashmir, and urged both countries to practice restraint.
According to the Dawn, the UN press office said in a statement that Ban expressed concern at the increase in violence along the Line of Control between India and Pakistan that has resulted in a number of causalities in both the countries.
The statement added that Ban called upon both the sides to exercise maximum restraint and take feasible action to ensure civilians’ safety.
The UN chief also urged India and Pakistan to resolve differences through dialogue. (ANI)
