London, April 27: The British government will no longer provide facilities, including security, to former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf.
The decision came following a United Nations fact-finding report alleging Musharraf’s involvement in the assassination of opposition candidate and former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.
Musharraf was being provided security and protocol in the United Kingdom, receiving security from retired SSG commandos, the services of four Scotland Yard personnel, and a vehicle.
The British government has also refused to extend the visas of his security guards.
However, Musharraf’s legal advisor, Fawad Chaudhary, has denied the reports, saying there was no change in the former Pakistani president’s security and protocol status.
