UK thief caught `green-faced` after breaking into police car

A police-car thief was busted by a high-tech trap set up in the car, which sprayed his face with an invisible and odourless dye that turned his face bright green under ultra violet lights.

28-year-old Yafet Askale, from Harlesden, broke into a police “trap car” in North West London, the Daily Star reported.

Initially, Askale denied a charge of theft from a motor vehicle, but was later sentenced to 49 hours of community work and ordered to pay 400 pounds, following a court trial.

In the hope of deterring thieves and catching those who wanted to steal things, Brent Police had teamed up with SmartWater to equip cars and houses with the new technology. (ANI)
