Britian, March 05: The UK Border Agency has permitted a failed asylum seeker who murdered a 12-year-old girl and was also banned from driving to remain in the UK.
Mohammed Ibrahim, an Iraqi Kurd asylum seeker, who was guilty of murder and was also banned from driving was granted a chance to stay in UK.
Although the father of the murdered teenager Paul Houston and UK Border Agency denounced the decision, two senior immigration judges allowed Ibrahim to stay. However, Houston has been campaigning to deport Ibrahim.
A spokesman for the Home Office said: “We will appeal this decision at an oral hearing. Mr Ibrahim was convicted of committing an offence that led to the tragic death of a 12-year-old child. It remains our view that he should be removed from the UK.”
Ibrahim’s lawyer claimed that according to the Human Rights laws, his client is permitted to stay in the UK.
“This is torture for me. It’s an up-and-down rollercoaster that they keep putting me through. It is about fairness and about human rights. How can that not be taken into consideration? How can my daughter’s life mean nothing to these people? He is a criminal at the end of the day, and it is safe for him to return home. He should do so.”
