UK Payroll – Senior QA Analyst

Job Description:

To conduct Payroll Knowledge Sharing sessions to other members of the QA team. To be a go to person for Payroll queries.

Communicates effectively with Product Management and Development Managers regarding Payroll enhancements and any other Payroll matters

Share Payroll knowledge – Mentors other QA testers in Payroll matters to improve their level of knowledge.

Be an expert in UK Payroll, office provide guidance to the other memebers in the team.

Test Planning and Control:

Assists in identifying any risks to the Payroll enhancements for a release.

Produces or helps other QA testers in the production of estimates of testing time-scales for Payroll enhancements.

Identifies and recommends Payroll areas requiring regression testing within a release PLUS helps increase the scope of regression around Payroll

Reviews test cases in ALM for Payroll enhancements created by other less experienced QA testers.

Monitors the progress of all Payroll enhancements for the team throughout a release to ensure they are completed on schedule whenever possible.

Ensures all Payroll defects in Patches are tested as necessary in the required timescales.

Provides estimates of number of test cases required to cover the identified gaps in each area.

Test Design and Development

Reviews Payroll requirement documents and functional/technical specifications from a user and application perspective when requested and provides feedback.

Demonstrates an understanding of different testing techniques in order to produce effective test cases.

Produces clear and comprehensive Test Cases to the agreed standards in ALM

Test Execution:

Installs software and upgrades databases as required and execute planned tests

Monitors / compares output against requirements and expected results.

Keeps accurate records of passed and failed test cases in ALM.

Records all software defects in detailed manner, gets them retested as when fixed by development team. Testing tools updated with required details.

Payroll Skills

Knowledge on various aspects of Payroll such as RTI, National Insurance, Pay elements

Minimum 6-9 years experience and working knowledge on UK Payroll domain

Knowledge of ResourceLink desirable but not essential

Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely

Must be able to translate client business rules to technical business requirements

Must possess strong analytic skills.

Must have good documentation skills and should be able to work in global
