Hyderabad, May 28: Four of a fivemember gang, including an MBA graduate from UK, were arrested here on Thursday for cheating unemployed youth by promising jobs in multi-national companies.
Police said P Rishikesh Reddy, K Dinesh Reddy, M Ravikanth, R Naga Srinivas and Prakash Reddy collected lakhs of rupees by luring jobless youths with plum posts. Prakash Reddy, however, is absconding.
Rishikesh Reddy, an MBA graduate from University of Central London, after failing to get a job, joined hands with Prakash Reddy, the kingpin of the racket. “Rishikesh Reddy roped in the other accused through a common friend,” police said.
Ravikanth and Srinivas would collect the data of jobless people by approaching HR consultants like Naukri and Monster. The accused would then call up the job aspirants as officials of Bank of America and other MNCs. They would give fake offer letters and collect up to Rs 2 lakh from each candidate.
Woman found murdered
A woman was found murdered at an isolated place in HMT, Jeedimetla on Thursday.
The half-naked body of the victim, aged around 25, was found amidst bushes and bore a head injury. Her clothes were found nearby.
Jeedimetla police suspect that someone had sex with her at the spot on Wednesday night. She died after being hit with a boulder.
Sniffer dogs followed the trail of the accused till the nearby auto stand.
A murder case has been registered.
