Hyderabad, October 15: The Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships 2010 supporting Ph.D programmes at St. John’s College, University of Cambridge, UK have been announced.
Since the scheme this year is being sponsored by Rolls Royce and British Petroleum, special preference will be given to the applications for research in Aerospace Engineering and Energy Studies, according British Council officials.
There will be three awards for the year 2010.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is a graduate and Honorary Fellow of St John’s College and the University of Cambridge launched the Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships in Delhi in 2007 in his honour.
Indian nationals under the age of 35 years as on December 15, 2009 with relevant masters degree with first class in undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Candidates with evidence of leadership qualities would be given preference. Social science students with special preference to Aerospace Engineering and Energy Studies are also encouraged to apply.

The hard copy of the application should be submitted to our New Delhi office by December 15.
According to a press release, the application is only for the scholarship.
For purpose of admission candidates should contact the college directly. The confirmed offer of admission should be produced at the time of interviews if candidates are short-listed.
