A college in the UK has launched a two-year degree course in heavy metal music, the first of its kind.
The course in New College Nottingham, would not only teach the budding rockers how to write and perform songs, but they will also deal with the history of the genre, and the music business, the Sun reported.
In the final year, the students will get a chance to play gigs around the UK.
Musician Liam Maloy, who has spent seven years in designing the foundation degree course, insisted that the course will be academically rigorous.
However, the Campaign for Real Education blasted the college saying that it might seem an attractive, easy option to some people, but you don’t need to do a degree in heavy metal and its a waste of time. (ANI)
