London: The United Kingdom’s Brexit Secretary David Davis resigned from his post on Sunday.
The report of Davis’s departure from the Cabinet was confirmed by two senior sources, the CNN reported this quoting British Press Association.
The reason for Davis resignation is not yet known.
On June 23, 2016, in a referendum, 51.9 percent of the participating UK electorate voted to leave the European Union, out of a turnout of 72.2 percent, effectively ending a relationship of 44 years.
Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty outlines the voluntary departure of a county from the EU.
Brexit takes effect in March 2019. (ANI)
