‘Udta Punjab’ leading Filmfare nominations list

Mumbai: Shahid Kapoor starrer “Udta Punjab” has topped the nominations list at the 62nd Filmfare Awards with nine nods, including best film and best director for Abhishek Chaubey.

The other nominations for the film are — best actor (Shahid Kapoor), best actress (Alia Bhatt), best supporting actor (Diljit Dosanjh), best supporting actress (Kareena Kapoor Khan), best music (Amit Trivedi), best lyrics (late Shiv Kumar Batalvi – Ikk kudi) and best singer female (Kanika Kapoor – ‘Da da dasse’).

Superstar Salman Khan’s wrestling drama movie “Sultan” has been nominated in seven categories including best film, best director (Ali Abbas Zafar), best actor, best music (Vishal- Shekar), best lyrics (Irshad Kamil ‘Jag Ghoomeya’) and best singers male (Rahat Fateh Ali Khan – ‘Jag Ghoomeya’) and female (Neha Bhasin – ‘Jag Ghoomeya’).

Siddharth Malhotra-Alia Bhatt’s “Kapoor and Sons” is nominated for best film and best director (Shakun Batra).

Interestingly, Rishi Kapoor, Rajat Kapoor and Fawad Khan are nominated in the best supporting actor category, while Ratna Pathak Shah has bagged a nomination in best supporting actress list.

The movie has also got a nomination for best music (Amaal Mallik, Badshah, Arko, Tanishk Bagchi, Benny Dayal and Nucleya).

“Neerja”, a biopic on late flight attendant Neerja Bhanot has been nominated for best film, best director (Ram Madhvani), best actress (Sonam Kapoor), best supporting actor male (Jim Sarbh) and best supporting actress (Shabana Azmi).

Romantic-drama movie “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” has been nominated for best director (Karan Johar), best actor (Ranbir Kapoor), best actress (Anushka Sharma), best music (Pritam) and best lyrics (Amitabh Bhattacharya – ‘Channa mereya’).

Amit Mishra for ‘Bulleya’, Arijit Singh for title track and ‘Channa mereya’ are nominated in the best music category. The film has also received a nomination for best singer female section (Jonita Gandhi -‘Break up song’).

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s “Pink” has been nominated in categories like best film, best actor (Bachchan), best supporting actress (Kirti Kulhari) and best singer female (Qurat-ul-Ain Balouch – ‘Kari kari’).

Aamir Khan-starrer “Dangal” is nominated for best film, best director (Nitesh Tiwari) and best actor (Aamir).
The biopic on cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni – “MS Dhoni: The Untold Story” is nominated in two categories – best actor (Sushant Singh Rajput) and best singer (Palak Mucchal for ‘Kaun tujhe’).

Omung Kumar directed biopic “Sarbjit” is also nominated in best actress (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) and best supporting actress (Richa Chadda) categories.

Gauri Shinde’s “Dear Zindagi” is nominated in two categories best actress (Alia Bhatt) and best lyrics (Kausar Munir – ‘Love you zindagi’).

Harshvardhan Kapoor’s debut movie “Mirzya” is nominated in sections best music (Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy) and best lyrics (Gulzar for ‘Aave re hitchki’ and ‘Mirzya’).

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s movie “Fan” has got a sole nomination in best actor category (SRK).

Sujoy Ghosh helmed “Kahaani 2:Durga Rani Singh” is nominated in best actress category (Vidya Balan).

Rajkummar Rao has been nominated as best supporting actor for “Aligarh”.

Akshay Kumar starrer “Rustom” is nominated in just one category – best singer male (Atif Aslam -‘Tere sang yara’).

Sidharth Malhotra-Katrina Kaif starrer “Baar Baar Dekho”” is nominated in best singer female category (Neeti Mohan for “Sau aasman”).

Tiger Shroff-Shraddha Kapoor’s “Baaghi” is nominated in best music section (Meet Bros, Amaal Mallik, Ankit Tiwari and Manj).
