New Delhi: The recently released ‘Udta Punjab,’ which highlighted the impact and menace of drug abuse on the society, particularly in Punjab, has made a strong opening, collecting 10.05 crore on its opening day.
Film critic Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter handle to share the movie’s collection saying, “#UdtaPunjab had a STRONG Fri… Best in North India [Delhi, Punjab]… Plexes across big cities VERY GOOD… Fri ? 10.05 cr. India biz.”
He continued, “If #UdtaPunjab maintains similar numbers or shows growth on Sat + Sun, it will help garner an impressive weekend total…”
The star-studded film, which has garnered a lot of appreciation from the members of the film fraternity, has become the 5th highest opening of this week after SRK’s ‘Fan,’ Housefull 3,’ ‘Airlift,’ and ‘Baaghi.’
Abhishek Chaubey’s directorial, which saw the outstanding performances of Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh, was released in around 2,000 screens on Friday.
