Uddhav Thackeray asks Sri Sri to leave Ram Mandir issue for Modi & Bhagwat; says if BJP wanted it could start the construction of the temple in 24 hours

Mumbai: Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackrey slammed Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for “interfering” in the Ram temple issue. He asked the later to continue with his ‘Art of Living’ work and leave this issue for Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and Mohan Bhagwat to resolve. Giving this advice in an editorial in party mouthpiece “Saamana”, the Sena chief said the BJP could issue an ordinance and start the construction of the temple at Ayodhya in 24 hours if it wanted.

He slammed self-styled godman Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for interfering in the Ram Mandir issue for the last two years and trying to remain a party to the talks. Condemning Sri Sri’s remark that if the issue doesn’t get resolved, the situation will become like that in Syria, Uddhav Thackrey said if a spiritual guru had given a threat it should be probed.

“There should be an inquiry into his statement for the sake of national security. What kind of Art of Living is this, where people are threatened or killed,” Uddhav Thackeray added.

“Nobody needs a ‘guru’ to tell the people that the issue cannot be resolved in the court. Ravi Shankar should stop his interference in the issue,” he said.
