Udacity, the Silicon Valley-based life-long learning platform, announced its collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) to facilitate skill development of engineering students in the State. The APSSDC has selected five Udacity Nanodegree Programs — Android Developer, Machine Learning Engineer, Front End Web Developer, Intro to Programming, and Full Stack Web Developer – that it will make available to its students to upskill them for the technical requirements of the jobs of tomorrow.
These Nanodegree programs feature world-class content co-created by tech giants like Google, Kaggle, Amazon, and AT&T with industry-relevant projects, project reviews, mentorship, and Udacity career services.
APSSDC has been in forefront of facilitating skill development. The organization, formed with the objective to provide skilled manpower across high-priority and emerging sectors to meet the State’s development targets, will look to Udacity’s cutting-edge programs to help upskill the students selected by the organization. Udacity recently also partnered with Google & Telecom Sector Skill Council in separate initiatives to provide relevant instruction and new-age technology learning to help India’s students upskill and reskill for the #JobsofTomorrow.
APSSDC MD & CEO Sambasiva Rao Koganti said “Udacity’s Nanodegree programs will immensely benefit the students by making them job ready. The APSSDC was encouraging students to pursue these programs by providing mentors in the colleges to guide the students and also bearing part of the course fee. A pilot program with 1,000 target has been launched and we are hopeful to meet the target by March 2018,” he said.
Udacity India MD Ishan Gupta , MD, said, “We are extremely pleased to help the APSSDC and the Andhra Pradesh government’s laudable objective to further equip the state’s young students with the skills required for better placements in the near future. Our meticulously designed Nanodegree courses, with curriculum devised from world-leading technology companies such as Google, Amazon & Kaggle and relevant subject experts, provide graduates the requisite skills and information they need to help them find lucrative opportunities in the dynamic job market and contribute greatly to the state and the country’s continued development.”
In 2017 alone, Udacity’s graduates have grabbed many job opportunities at 80+ hiring partners (including Olacabs, Zomato, Dailyhunt, Tapzo, KPIT, Directi, Hi-tech Robotics Systemz, redbus, and Tata Elxsi). As Andhra Pradesh continues to develop at an impressive pace and invites greater tech-driven businesses into the region, Udacity looks forward to preparing candidates with relevant skills in nascent and emerging technologies to improve their placement opportunities.
