Abu Dhabi, December 22: The National Security Council on Monday stressed the need to further its mission of consolidating national unity, promoting the spirit of national decision-making, deepening the sense of belonging and loyalty to the homeland, and providing wise leadership to the community and its institutions.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, chaired at the Presidential Palace the meeting of the Council, which is headed by His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces.
The Council considered a number of ideas and proposals that could serve as a starting point in outlining the Council’s work policy, achieve its objectives, define its priorities and implement its decision-making mechanism.
Shaikh Mohammed emphasised the importance of intensifying constructive cooperation between the Council and all authorities concerned at the federal and local levels and work to overcome obstacles to its mission of implementing national tasks.
Shaikh Mohammed wished the members of the National Security Council success in serving the homeland and expressed confidence in the sincerity and efficiency of Council members.
The meeting was attended by Shaikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs and Saif Sultan Al Aryani, Secretary General of the Council.
