UAE President, King of Jordan hold talks

Abu Dhabi, September 08: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan held talks on Monday evening with King of Jordan His Majesty Abdullah II, at Al Mushrif Palace.

Shaikh Khalifa welcomed the King of Jordan and his entourage, stressing the importance of consultation and bilateral meetings of leadership of the two countries to strengthen fraternal links between the two countries and peoples.

The meeting tackled distinguished relations between the two countries and ways to bolster them in different fields in the best interest of the two peoples.

The two leaders exchanged views on the latest situation in the Arab and international arenas, as well as issues of common interest. They reiterated that the two countries were keen on activation of joint Arab work through joint views to tackle all the issues.

King Abdullah expressed his pleasure about visiting the UAE and meeting Shaikh Khalifa. He hailed his wise leadership. The two leaders exchanged the greetings on advent of Holy Month of Ramadan.

Shaikh Khalifa hosted a banquet in honour of the king of Jordan and his entourage. It was attended by shaikhs, ministers and senior officials.

King Abdullah left for home on Monday night after the short fraternal visit. He was seen off by Presidents Representative HH Shaikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs HH Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a number of senior state officials and the Jordanian ambassador to UAE, Jamal Al Shamailah.
