Abu Dhabi, November 19: A workshop on the use of colour outside the scope of painting will be held by UAE artist Khulood Mohammed Ali Al-Jabri.
The event is part of the special programmes organised by the ‘Art Workshop’ project, launched by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH).
Ten female students from Zayed University will be attending the workshop, which involves a joint cooperation between a number of education institutions, and will be held at the new location of the Art Workshop at the National Theatre in Abu Dhabi.
Al-Jabri will seek to pass on lessons from her experiences on colour coordination and soft artistic touches to eager art learners.
The workshop also aims to discover new young artistic UAE talents, whose works will be on display at Zayed University.
The works of students from other education institutions will also be on display later at the ‘Art Workshop’.
Al-Jabri is known for her unique artistic experience, culminating in rich and extremely diverse manifestations of different aspects of local heritage and social life.
Her work shows various depictions of men from different viewpoints. From such generalities, her experience carries unique themes, which endowed her works with individuality making her stand out from other peers.
The most important theme that one notices is that over-presence of women in her portraits, whether physically, spiritually, or hovering as a dream.
Woman, as shown in her works, stands for love, patience, shown as guards over good dreams, or working for realizing such dreams to come true.
In addition, one can trace local heritage in her works, sketched in a symbolic expressionist manner, in a verse-like style, alluding at parts, and unveiling with a pun.
Her professional career is largely characterized with distinguished contributions and achievements.
Al-Jabri co-founded the Photography Department at ADACH, where she worked later as a teacher of Fine Arts, before taking on other responsibilities.
She contributed to many photography and fine arts exhibitions and competitions, inside and outside the UAE, and she received many awards and certificates of appreciation.
