The United Arab Emirates security authorities have busted an al-Qaida-affiliated terrorist cell plotting attacks against the Gulf state, official WAM news agency reported Thursday.
The cell, comprising seven members of different Arab nationalities, was also recruiting people to “promote the work of al-Qaida” besides funding the group to help expand its presence in the region, WAM said, quoting an official source.
The UAE state security prosecution will launch a probe into the case and the cell members will stand trial after the investigation is done. (Xinhua-ANI)
