Hyderabad: With an eye on GHMC election, Asaduddin Owaisi, MIM President and Akbaruddin Owasi, MIM leader made a U-turn, changed its stand on Metro Rail for Hyderabad Old City.
MIM leaders, Asaduddin Owaisi and Akbaruddin Owaisi while campaigning for GHMC elections told the voters that their party will pressurize the TRS government to complete the Metro works immediately.
Earlier, MIM was opposing the Metro Rail corridor 3 from Jubilee Bus Station to Falaknuma passing through Charminar in the Old City.
However, now they claim that they were not against the Metro Rail, they just want route to be changed. They have suggested an alternative route via Puranapul, Bhadurpura and Kalapathar to Shamshabad.
It is to be noted that if the original route as mentioned in the metro rail project is followed many Corporators and MLAs may lose their lands.
Metro Rail Project if implemented properly, it will not only makes travel easier but also it will adds to the economy of the State as it would attract tourists, improve ease of doing business etc. It will also improve the connectivity in the city.
