U.S., India gear up for 21st century knowledge initiative awards

Washington : In a continuation of the educational partnership between Washington and New Delhi, the U.S.

Department of State and the University Grants Commission (UGC) have announced eight institutional partnership projects for the fifth and final round of Indo-U.S. 21st Century Knowledge Initiative awards.

Formerly known as the Obama-Singh 21st Century Knowledge Initiative, the initiative aims to strengthen collaboration between the institutions of higher education of both sides.

Each project will receive an award of up to 190,000 USD that can be utilized over a three-year period.

Out of the eight partnership projects, four will be led by the U.S. institutions and the other four by Indian institutions.

The partnering countries have also established a bi-national joint working group (JWG), which will provide final approval for all grants awarded through the U.S.-India 21st Century Knowledge Initiative. (ANI)
