Mumbai :Defending champions U Mumba proved too good for Jaipur Pink Panthers as they registered an easy 35-21 victory to ensure their entry in the semifinals of the Pro Kabaddi League here today.
The hosts produced a fine all-round show in their first home game of the season to record their ninth win in 11 games and take their points tally to 45 with two games in hand. They now occupy the second spot behind table toppers Patna Pirates (57 points from 13 matches).
Pink Panthers, on the other hand, finished their engagements with a tally of 28 points to be out of reckoning for a spot in the knock out rounds to be played in Delhi.
Rishank Devadiga was the pick of the raiders for the hosts with a total of nine points followed by captain Anup Kumar (5) and Rakesh Kumar (4). All three had a tackling point too to their credit.
In defense, experienced Jeeva Kumar and Fazel Atrachali stood out for the title holders with three points apiece. The Panthers were all out on three occasions.
For the losers, who slumped to their 8th defeat, Rajesh Narwal (5 points including 1 for tackling) and captain and main defender Raj Singh (3 tackle points) led the way with K K Jagadeesha contributing with two tackle points.
