Shajapur (MP), December 16: The two-year-old boy, who fell into a borewell at a village in the district, was finally rescued after 12 hours, police said today.
The child, identified as Ankit, remained inside the borewell at the village Nandni about 40 km from here yesterday for nearly 12 hours at the depth of 25 feet in the 185-feet deep borewell.
He fell into the recently dugged borewell while playing in an agriculture field and his family members came to know about it when he started crying, the police said.
Shajapur Collectorate despatched a rescue team and also sought help of the army from Bhopal for rescuing the trapped boy.
However, before armymen reached the spot, the villagers with the help of a rope pulled the trapped boy out of the borewell safely, police said.
The boy was rushed to a hospital in Kalapipal town where after examination he was sent to home.
