In separate cases, two women committed suicide for different reasons.
In the first case, 26-year-old G Rama Devi committed suicide by setting herself ablaze allegedly due to ill-health. She took the extreme step at her residence in Danamma Basti of Jagatgirigutta on November 16 and died at the Gandhi Hospital on Thursday.
In another case, M Durgamma, 48, committed suicide by jumping in front of a running train between Borabanda and Bharat Nagar Railway Stations on Wednesday night. Durgamma, a resident of Parvatha Nagar near Borabanda, was said to be mentally unsound and had reportedly attempted suicide in the past, according to Nampally Railway Police. (INN)
