On Sunday, near Renigunta, two women and a child were killed in a tragic incident.
According to Renigunta police, Sarala, 20, and her younger sister Krishnaveni, 19, from Yellamitta village in Renigunta mandal went for a darshan to the Anasampalli temple.
Sarala had taken her one-year-old daughter Sarika along with her for darshan. The sisters and the child after prayers sat on the outcrop of a well near the temple and were having prasadam.
In a the twinkling of an eye, Krishnaveni lost her balance and fell Into the well. Sarala who was holding her one-year-old daughter in her lap, tried to grab hold of her sister’s hand but failed.
In the event, Sarala too slipped and fell into the well along with her daughter. By the time passerby could come to their rescue, they drowned. The police with the help of locals recovered the bodies of Sarala and Krishnaveni. The body of the baby was not recovered till the evening.
According to police, Sarala was married to Raja, an agricultural labourer.
