Two women arrested for robbing head constable

New Delhi, June 14: Two women were arrested here for allegedly stealing valuable items from the residence of a head-constable in south Delhi, police said today.

According to police, stolen jewelleries and other valuables also recovered from the two women, identified as Anita (43) and Shabana (23).

The duo allegedly had committed the crime at the residence of head constable Sharda Saini in Andrewganj while she was out on duty by leaving her mentally challenged son at home last month.

Shabana was known to the head constable as she had been introduced to Saini for marrying her mentally challenged son, police said.

“However, things did not materialise as Shabana belonged to other community. But during such meetings, Shabana won the confidence of Saini’s son by posing herself as his would be wife,” a senior police officer said.
