Bhind (MP), November 11: Two dacoits, active in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, were gunned down in an encounter by the police in the district, police said today.
The duo was carrying a reward of Rs 35,000 each and have been identified as Rambir Sikarwar and Sanjeev Tomar, Chambal Range Inspector General of Police (IG) Sanjay Jha told reporters.
Acting on a tip-off, a police party, led by Additional SP Siddharth Choudhry, challenged them in Phoof area near Sapad village following which they opened fire at the police.
In the retaliatory fire, both the dacoits were killed by the police.
Several cases of loot and murder were registered against them, he said, adding Rs 2.43 lakh cash, a 12-bore rifle, a revolver and a pistol were recovered from their possession.
