Two US bases hit in Afghanistan

Kabul, January 25: The Taliban have claimed they have targeted two US military bases in the southeastern province of Khost, causing a large number of casualties.

The militant group announced they attacked the bases with rockets on Tuesday.

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said eight rockets hit the American military bases.

According to Afghan local officials, the attacks took place in Sabari district of Khost but there are no reports of casualties.

Earlier this month, the largest US airbase in Afghanistan, Bagram Airbase, was hit by rocket attack. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.

The Taliban have recently intensified attacks against US-led foreign forces in Afghanistan despite Washington’s efforts to begin negotiations with the group.
