Two thieves beaten to death by villagers in Gujarat

Vadodara, February 07: Two suspected thieves were today beaten to death by locals of a village following their attempt to commit a theft there, police said.

“The incident took place in Raysinghpura village. The deceased were identified only as Bhagirath and Haresh while the former hailed from neighbouring Madhya Pradesh, Haresh was a resident of Aamchhota village in Vadodara district,” Superintendent of Police G Gambhir said.

A group of villagers tied them with a tree and started beating them. One of them died on the spot while another succumbed to injuries in a hospital in Kawant, Gambhir said, adding a case of murder has been registered.
