Two suspected Bangladeshi terrorists arrested in Delhi

New Delhi, October 27: Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested two suspected Bangladeshi terrorists from the Nizamuddin area of the national capital.

The two arrested have been identified as Munir and Mehboob. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the two were involved in terrorist activities in Bangladesh and spent two years in jail there before coming to India some 18 month back through an agent. The police have also recovered a pistol from them.

Investigators are probing whether the two were involved in terrorist activities in India.

This is the second such arrest of Bangladeshis from Delhi. Earlier on October 13, three Bangladeshis, who reportedly sneaked into India in search of a better life, were arrested from Bawana for their alleged involvement in cases of robbery and burglary.

The arrested were identified as Mohd Mustafa (24), Mohd Tara (25) and Mohd Yasin (24), all of them hailing from Madaripur in Bangladesh.

The trio had allegedly robbed cash and jewellery worth Rs 20 lakh from a house in Chandni Chowk in February, 2008.
