A 38-year-old woman was killed while her son sustained burn injuries when they accidentally caught fire at their residence in Uppal.
According to Uppal police, the victim, C. Sunitha, caught fire while trying to lit a candle after power went off on Sunday night. Her son Abhinav too sustained burn injuries while trying to rescue her mother. Both sustained grievous burn injuries and were immediately rushed to Gandhi Hospital where Sunitha died on Sunday morning. Abhinav is still undergoing treatment.
In another case, K. Bhagya Lakshmi, 48, succumbed to the burn injuries which she sutained on 4th December while cooking food at her residence in Shivaji Nagar of Borabanda. She was admitted to Gandhi Hospital where she died on Sunday, according to Sanathnagar police. (INN)
