Two from state die in US, UAE

Hyderabad, September 05: Two persons from Andhra Pradesh, including a Hyderabadi, were killed in different mishaps in the United States and the United Arab Emirates.

A software engineer from Rajahmundry drowned in the Grand River in the wee hours of Satrurday. Chakka Shiva Kiran Kumar, 34, drowned accidentally in the river when he along with wife Rekha and friends went for a picnic in Michigan. Efforts were on to trace his body.

His family in Ullithota area in Rajahmundry in East Godavari has been informed about the mishap. Kiran, a programme developer in a top firm, was working in the US for the last 10 years. He was a resident of Louis Valley. His father Chakka Suryanarayana Murthy is into steel business, while his brother Murali is a dentist. Rekha’s father Durga Rao is a district judge in Kakinada. Sources said Kiran’s mother Lakshmi is yet to be informed about the tragedy.

Relatives said Kiran was keen to come back to India and work in his native land.

In another mishap, Gaddam Nithyanand Naveen Raj was burnt to death inside his car in a road accident when a water tanker rammed into his vehicle on Shaikh Zayed road in Dubai on August 29.

Naveen Raj was on his way to office after attending a meeting when the mishap took place. Two others escaped with minor injuries.

The news of his death was made known to his family members on Saturday only.

Naveen Raj was working as a building surveyor in a construction company in Dubai since 2007. A resident of Sithaphalmandi in Secunderabad, Naveen is survived by wife and aged parents.
