The Humayun Nagar police have arrested a two-member chain snatchers’ gang and recovered stolen gold ornaments of about 8.2 tolas from their possession.
The arrested accused persons, Mohd Abdul Ghaffar (25) and Mohd Meraj (38), are auto-drivers. While Ghaffar is a resident of Chintal Basti, Mehraj resides in Hasan Nagar. Another accused, Siraj, is absconding.
The arrests were made following investigations in a complaint lodged by one T Laxmi, a resident of Khairtabad, who alleged that two unidentified persons had snatched gold chain from her near the ATM of Canara Bank near Golconda Hotel on September 30. The case was detected by the Detective Inspector G. Raju and his team. (INN)
