Faizabad, January 26: A friendly cricket match between local teams turned ugly over a trivial issue with two players being shot at in the district today.
DIG (Faizabad) Akhil Kumar said the injured players Yogesh Sharma (18) and Vinit Tyagi (16) were admitted to a private hospital in a critical condition.
He said a clash broke out over a no-ball decision following which a member of the rival team allegedly opened fire in Shyam Park area.
Three persons of the rival team identified as Sonu, Imran and Anish were arrested. A case was registered, the officer said.
