Two remanded in Japanese national murder case

Dhaka, Oct. 6 : Bangladesh National Party (BNP) activist Rasheed-un-Nabi Khan Biplob and Humayun Kabir Hira have been sent to 10-day remand by a local court in Rangpur in connection with the murder case of Japanese national Hoshni Kunio.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Abu Taleb passed the order after the duo was produced before the court with a 10-day remand prayer by the police.

Humayun Kabir Hira, who owned a fishery near Kunio owned grass field, was the victim’s friend. Rasheed-un-Nabi Khan was a member of the BNP’s city committee.

According to The Daily Star, the duo was among the six people, who were questioned soon after the murder.

Hoshi Kunio was gunned down in northern district of Rangpur on October 3. The incident took place five days after an Italian citizen was killed in Dhaka’s diplomatic zone. (ANI)
