Two reduced to ashes as oil tanker explodes in mishap

Jalna, November 04: A driver and his associate reduced to ashes today when a fuel tanker exploded into flames after hitting a tree at Dambri village, 35 km from the town.

According to the police, the oil tanker containing petrol and diesel was coming from Manmad and proceeding to Basmat, Parbhani district. When the tanker reached at Dambri village, the driver lost control and hit the tree.

The oil burst into flames that engulfed driver Rameshwar Gite, 28, and 22-year-old cleaner Dadasaheb Wagh, both residents of Jintur.

The owner of the vehicle, R Deshpande, said the tanker, containing two parts, was carrying 6,000 litre petrol and same quantity of diesel to supply in Basmat.
