Two policemen turn lawbreakers in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad, Feb 2 (PTI) Two policemen found themselves on the other side of the law today, when one was arrested for allegedly possessing heroin while the other was suspended on the charge of taking bribe.

Constable Mahendra Singh, posted at Kavi Nagar police station here, was arrested in Hapur for allegedly possessing 240 gm of heroin and other narcotic substance, police sources said.

Singh was produced before the magistrate in Hapur and later sent to jail, they said.

In separate case, Sub-Inspector Harpal Singh, posted at Loni police station, was placed under suspension by SSP Ragubir Lal for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a person, they said.

The SSP said all those policemen indulged in criminal activities and corruption would be punished.
